First cloned camel was born in Dubai

Camels are known as a valuable commodity in the desert and they are famous for the low-fat milk which they produce. Scientists have now tried cloning a camel and it turned out to be a very successful one. The world’s first camel was born in the desert emirate of Dubai. Nisar Ahmad Wani, who is a senior reproductive biologist working at the Government’s camel Reproduction Center says that the cloned camel which is a six-day old and a one-humped female is named “Achievement” or Injaz in Arabic. In a press release, the cloned camel was born on eighth of April after an uncomplicated gestation of nearly 378 days.Injaz was created by from cells taken from a adult female camel’s ovary.
