Oil For 12 Cents???
It’s really hard to believe that somewhere in the world a gallon of fuel is being sold just for 12 cents. But it’s actually true. Caracas, Venezuela sells the cheapest gasoline on earth a liter sells only for 3 cents there. Just imagine how many miles you can drive and how much money you can save if you were there. It would be awesome but the government copes up with this price only with a heavy heart, with the oil demands growing everywhere, the oil prices are beginning to shoot up around the world. But the major oil producing nations like the Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Iraq suffer heavily unable to raise their own domestic oil prices, just because the people are so used to it. Oil price raise even causes violent riots among people if brought into practice, with their incapability to raise the prices people continue to use more and more petrol without saving any, and hugely affecting the country’s oil exports, resulting in heavy decline in economy. Such a situation really puts these nations in a tight spot; well anyway as long as they sell it for 12 cents I really don’t think it’s that much of a crime.
Oil companies oppose President’s Advice
Though Obama wants oil companies to reduce oil consumption so that the renewable energy supplies can be increased and the carbon- di- oxide emission can also be cut, the oil companies are reluctant to follow this. The oil companies think that reducing oil consumption is not possible. Royal Dutch shell has plans to freeze its investments in other form of energy like wind, solar and hydrogen power and is planning o focus its alternative energy research on bio fuels. BP is getting back to petroleum and also paring back its renewable program. Many other oil companies are also ignoring the new messages from Washington.
